Biography

I analyse, design and assess the masonry and concrete structures for normal and extreme loads such as seismic forces, impact/collisions or blast. I am also investigating the suitability of Auxetic composites which are high energy absorbing materials to protect the structures against these extreme loads due to significant increase in unfortunate disastrous events. Strength and serviceability assessment of of aged masonry arch bridges, mortarless masonry and mix design of coral concrete are my additional research fields. My research entails experimental tests, field investigations, computer modelling and simulations. I have published 20 scholarly publications, including book chapter, journal and conference papers. Training undergrad and graduate students is also my passion with a vision to promote innovative engineering materials in construction and design.
