Biography

Dr. Mihaita is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Technology in Sydney, leading the Future Mobility Lab (www.fmlab.org). Her research focus is synergizing traffic simulation and optimization techniques by using artificial intelligence to improve the traffic congestion, predict the incident duration, build multi-modal public transport optimization and evaluate the impact of electric and connected/autonomous vehicles. Dr. Mihaita holds several leadership roles in various initiatives such as the Australian-Singapore Strategic Collaboration Partnership via ARC Linkage collaboration, the “Premiere’s Innovation Initiative”, the “On-Demand Mobility” trials in Northern Beaches run by Keolis Downer, the “Electric vehicle modeling impact” from AEMO, the Investigation of positioning accuracy of connected vehicles operated by the Road Safety Centre in TfNSW, etc. She is a winner of the 2018 National ITS Awards, an awarded IEEE Senior Member in 2020, a finalist in the 2019 Australian Smart Cities Award, and a nominee of the 2019 Prime Minister's Science Awards.
