Biography

Dr Shane Powell is a microbial ecologist who is primarily interested in microbial community dynamics and exploring how microbes interact with their environment. To do this she uses a range of techniques from culturing to next generation sequencing. Shane's current research aligns with the University's research theme of Environment, Resources and Sustainability. She aims to help primary producers become more efficient and sustainable by understanding the role and control of microbes in their systems.
