Biography

Meltem is a Ph.D. Candidate studying the food structure-function relationship.

In 2016, Meltem received my BSc from Sabanci University (Turkey) in Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Bioengineering (Minor in Chemistry). She moved to Melbourne where she completed an MSc in Food Science at the University of Melbourne. Meltem is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in CSIRO (Agriculture and Food) and RMIT (Applied chemistry), aiming to develop an understanding of the evolution of structures within the food matrices upon digestion. Meltem has been awarded an AINSE Postgraduate Research Award (Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering), which supports her work at ANSTO facilities.

Meltem was also selected for Homeward Bound Women in STEMM leadership initiative
