Biography
I am a motivated and passionate advocate of evidence-based optometry, clinical governance, quality and safety in eye care, and optometry learning and development. My clinical interests include glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, ocular therapeutics, dry eye disease and indigenous eyecare. Currently, I am completing a PhD at UNSW in the area of improving the appropriateness of glaucoma care delivery by optometrists using implementation science theories. In addition, I continue to practice optometry. I am also involved in shaping the future of optometry in Queensland and Northern Territory with my director role with Optometry Queensland Northern Territory. From 2016-2020 I was the President of Optometry Queensland Northern Territory. Advancing the role of women in STEM is important to me and in 2021 I was admitted as a champion to the UNSW Women in Maths and Science Program.
