Biography

I have a deep passion for shaping and empowering the next generation of learners, professionals and communities underpinned by a fascination for emerging technologies, innovations and designing inclusive & brilliant learning experiences.

I am an Associate Professor of Online Programs at La Trobe University and an Honorary Fellow at Deakin University, Australia. I have accumulated 15+ years of experience leading and delivering on successful curriculum & assessment transformation initiatives and strategic & grassroots digital learning innovative projects in higher education. Over the years, I am humbled and feel privileged to lead and work alongside cross-functional teams of talented & valued learning designers, edu technologists, interactive media specialists, researchers, UX designers, solution architects, third space t&l professionals, learners and course teams to co-design innovative curricula, assessment and learning experiences for our diverse learners and communities.

My leadership and sustained impact on student learning and digital education innovations in HE are recognised through multiple awards, including the prestigious Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning, the ASCILITE Innovation Award and multiple University Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Learning and Teaching.

I love a challenge and have a ‘can-do’ attitude. Nothing is too complicated that can't be solved with creative design thinking, empathy, empowering individuals & teams to realise their best and a positive growth mindset. I thrive through ambiguity, lead by example and embrace an inclusive approach to work and life.

I have an ongoing devotion to volunteering and supporting our communities, not-for-profits and mentoring women & CALD communities in realising their potential. So feel free to reach out as I am keen to give back and make an impactful difference, particularly in all aspects of technology-enhanced learning initiatives, from governance and formulation of strategies to operational success, digital literacy, learning design, and career mentoring, community development etc.

I have particular interests in sustainable development practices, closing the digital divide, cyber security and indigenous and cultural awareness, so happy to learn & share ideas.

Feel free to reach out for a chat :)

Keep shining,
Leanne
