Biography

Dr Laura Forrest is a senior research fellow and leads the Psychosocial Cancer Genomics research team in the Parkville Familial Cancer Centre co-located at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Laura is also an associate genetic counsellor practising clinically in the Parkville Familial Cancer Centre in addition to her research work.

Laura co-chairs the Research Gender Equity and Diversity Committee at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and also co-chairs the Australia and New Zealand Chapter of the Li-Fraumeni Syndrome Association.

Laura and her team use mixed methods approaches to examine the psychosocial implications of hereditary cancer syndromes on families, as well as health service and implementation science evaluations of genetic counselling and genetic testing models of care.
