Biography

Dr Laura Eadie is an award-winning biomedical researcher working in the field of high-risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL). Laura's research aims to overcome the primary clinical issue in ALL: treatment resistance. The focus of her group is the generation of mouse models of T-cell ALL. These models are used to (1) examine re-purposing current drugs and test novel therapies (2) provide therapeutic options for pre-emptive intervention of resistant disease.

Dr Eadie is the current Peter Nelson Leukaemia Research Fellow and an affiliate senior lecturer in Medicine, University of Adelaide. She is nationally and internationally recognised as an emerging leader in her field and a past recipient of a prestigious Fulbright Post-doctoral Research Scholarship.

Laura is a TEDx speaker, a passionate advocate for women in STEMM careers and mentor to the next generation of future scientists. In addition to securing in excess of $3.8 million in fellowship and project grant funding, Laura has won additional prizes and awards for presenting and communicating her research. She was a Top 10 Fresh Scientist SA (2017) awarded by Science in Public for excellence in science communication and loves to take part in events aimed at getting the general public to understand and be excited by science.
