Biography

Professor Katherine Mills is Director of Early Intervention and Treatment Research at The University of Sydney's Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use. She is also a member of the NSW Mental Health Review Tribunal and an Honorary Research Fellow at the Black Dog Institute.

Katherine's program of work focuses on improving our understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health conditions (in particular post-traumatic stress disorder), developing and evaluating innovative treatment responses, and improving the translation of research findings into evidence-based practice.

Katherine is recognised as an international leader in the field. She has received a number of awards for excellence in science and research and in recognition of the impact of her work on the community.
