Biography

Dr. Hema Wadhwa’s diverse career path has spanned Academic Research, Engineering, Model Testing, Automation, Business Development and Innovation. She is a dedicated professional with commitment and passion for development of new technologies, analytical methods. Hema is passionate in driving development of the engineering industry, creation of innovative and practical solutions that increase efficiency and enhance safety for both projects and production operations. Hema played a key role in exporting specialised Houston-developed capabilities into the Perth market, creating valuable differentiation in a competitive segment. She is a thought leader and collaborates to propose and deliver best solutions for clients. Hema has also worked on a model testing campaign as a hydrodynamics SME at the Neutral Buoyancy lab at NASA. She has authored and co-authored several technical papers and has presented technical work at local and international conferences. She was also recognised in the top 25 migrants by the ‘Skilled Migrant Professionals’ summer magazine issue in 2017. She is nominated for Women in Technology WA tech awards this year. She was sellected for women in Leadership award by ISWA in 2021.  Hema is an elected board member and office bearer of Society of Underwater Technology.  She was invited to deliver the keynote speech at her Alma mater, the University of Western Australia at the graduation ceremony in 2018.. She also enjoys the ‘pay it forward’ opportunities by mentoring in Industry Mentoring Network in STEM (IMNIS) and The University of Western Australia Alumni programs.
