Biography

I am passionate about understanding the evolution and distribution of biodiversity, especially in the Antarctic region. To address this, I use a wide range of genetic tools together with the analysis of ecological and biogeographical patterns, conducting fieldwork from the poles to the tropics, on islands, under the ice, and out at sea. I have also worked in science outreach and education, both in Australia and overseas.

I am hopeful we can improve the accessibility of science research to the public, thereby fostering greater respect for scientific discoveries and predictions at a time so critical for environmental protection.
