Dr Macpherson conducts research on healthy brain ageing, with a focus on dementia prevention. Her research examines the potential for modifiable lifestyle factors, such as diet and exercise, to optimise cognition and brain health in older people at risk of dementia and other neurodegenerative disorders.
Dr Macpherson has experience running clinical trials to investigate the effects of diet and exercise lifestyle change on cognition in older adults living in the community and residential aged care. With a background in cognitive neuroscience, she is particularly interested in the impact of lifestyle on brain health and function.
She is passionate and enthusiastic about building community awareness around dementia prevention.
