Biography

Dr. Sidjabat's primary research interest is in probiotics relevant to the microbiota, antimicrobial-resistant bacteria, bacterial genome and proteome, molecular microbiology and COVID-19 clinical features (ORCID ID: orcid.org/my-orcid?orcid=0000-0001-5625-1317; Google Scholar: scholar.google.com.au/citations?user=7Hlk2esAAAAJ&hl=en). Besides her research works in beneficial bacteria and pathogenic bacteria, with her Griffith University Menzies Health Institute Queensland's affiliation, Dr. Sidjabat has collaborative works on COVID-19 clinical features, contact tracing study, and a molecular diagnostic of SARS-CoV-2 study with a University and a Hospital in Surabaya, Indonesia. Dr. Sidjabat is also involved in teaching medical microbiology for undergraduate students at University of Southern Queensland. She had successfully entered agreements for commercialisation of her probiotic research at the University of Queensland through (UQ) Uniquest with probiotic companies. Dr Sidjabat was the lead microbiologist and molecular microbiologist of the characterisation of the microbiota of the upper airways. Prior to that Dr. Sidjabat's research was on antimicrobial-resistant bacteria especially in nosocomial pathogens in Australia and USA.
