Biography

I recently completed my PhD at the University of Western Australia (UWA), Australia, and I am now a post-doctoral researcher at UWA and Curtin University. I have transdisciplinary expertise with a BSc in Physiology and Mathematics and Statistics and First Class Honours in Physiology from UWA, and additional training in advanced data science.

My main research interest is the impact of ageing and disease on skeletal muscle using a transdisciplinary approach; with the ultimate goal to develop dynamic multi-scale and multi-system models that enhance scientific understanding and enable clinical translation and targeted intervention approaches.

My PhD research investigated the consequences of dysferlin-deficiency in skeletal muscles, to better understand the molecular basis for the disease progression in patients with dysferlinopathy. Extending upon my PhD work, I am now doing post-doctoral research at UWA and Curtin University where I am engaged in a large transdisciplinary research program investigating several biological systems/components involved in muscular dystrophies.
