Biography

I am the Project Officer for the Plant Breeding programs at the University of Adelaide's school of Agriculture Food and Wine. I have a PhD from the University of Queensland, and carried out my studies at the CSIRO Agriculture and Food division in Canberra, Australia. My doctoral research focused on genetic resistance to wheat rust diseases (stripe rust, stem rust and leaf rust), identifying resistance genes that will hopefully be durable in the field. I now use my experience in plant biology to help plant breeders and researchers at the University of Adelaide get the most out of their research.

My main interests are plant genetics and breeding, working towards a plant-based future as the world faces the growing challenges of climate change and an increasing global population.
