Biography

Dr Amy NY Chen (she/her) is a champion for "alternative" career paths after STEM PhD, mental health for postgraduate students and early career researchers, and increasing the visibility of culturally and linguistically diverse researchers in STEM.

Amy is passionate about diversity and inclusion in science. Together with two friends, she co-founded Scientists without Labels to share the stories of anyone who defies the stereotypes of who a scientist should be and to provide role models for the future generation.

Amy is a science communication professional with a PhD in behavioural pharmacology. Using her science background, she has worked in research, science outreach, science communication and tertiary education. She is currently a Marketing Officer at Monash University.

Amy identifies as culturally and linguistically diverse.
