Girls in STEM
Research shows that children begin to aspire to careers early in primary school and are influenced by teachers and their families. It is therefore important we work together to engage the future generation of women in STEM. To assist, STEM Women has built a collection of existing programs and strategies targeted to inspire and encourage girls in STEM.
This collection aligns with Opportunity 5 Education: strong beginnings, in the Women in STEM Decadal Plan. Learn more about the decadal plan.

Techtrails Online
Women in Technology WA’s Techtrails STEM and Future Skills schools program is going online with a new initiative!
Techtrails Online is a series of online modules featuring links to future careers and video content showcasing inspiring female STEM role models. This exciting new initiative has been designed to inspire secondary students for a future in STEM, and give them the opportunity to explore where these skills could take them.
Free to access and easy to use, with modules covering a range of themes, students will learn about the technology used in industries from marine science, and farming, to virtual reality, space and more!

Young Indigenous Women's STEM Academy

The Young Indigenous Women’s STEM Academy (the Academy) will increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander females undertaking studies and careers in STEM. The Academy does this through targeted, long-term support to help overcome the barriers that discourage Indigenous women from pursuing STEM careers.The holistic, streamlined approach to support will promote access to STEM careers for high achieving Year 8 and Year 11 students.
