Biography

Philippa is PhD student working with the ‘Living on The Edge’ project out of the University of Technology Sydney, Australian National University, and Australian Institute of Botanical Sciences. Her research focuses on the vulnerability of seeds, germinants, and seedlings to the external stressors associated with a changing climate. Using germination responses and chlorophyll fluorescence metrics, her work seeks to understand the overarching question: when does the bottleneck in survival occur in a plant’s lifecycle?

She also has a strong interest in science communication, community outreach, and teaching children and teenagers about the wonders of science.
