Melissa serves on national and South Australian boards and committees in the areas of governance, healthcare, regulation and innovation. Her experience includes companies, not-for-profit, advisory, statutory and regulatory bodies.

She is director of her family company, a boutique IT services firm with a diverse portfolio of clients. She mentors and actively encourages others to serve on boards/committees and is an active member of the community, including as a board member of an independent school.

In the health system, Melissa works constructively with others towards better, safer, person-centred care. Roles vary depending on the position, including board member, health consumer expert, health consumer representative and consumer advocate. Focus is safe care and high-quality care, bringing a sound, strategic and experienced community perspective with up-to-date knowledge, coupled with governance knowledge.

Melissa holds Bachelor of Science, Master of Systems Development, Graduate Certificate in Small Business Management and a Graduate Certificate in Medical and Health Leadership qualifications, and is a graduate of the Australian Company Directors course.

Personal highlights include mentoring thirty years 3/4 students with their technology project which went onto win two state awards and a national innovation iAward over a two-year period; a year 5 student winning an innovation award and a year 7 student winning a national STEM prize.
