Melissa is an experienced member of boards and committees in the areas of technology, innovation, health and governance. Her board experience arises from private companies, not-for-profits, statutory and advisory bodies.

Melissa has business experience in the IT industry with over 25 years as company director of her business Cadzow TECH Pty. Ltd., specialising in IT Managed Services and Strategic IT Advice.

For health-related roles she is often appointed as a community member or health consumer; she is committed to supporting the health system to achieve quality, safe, person-centred care.

She values ongoing professional development, including the Australian Institute of Company Director’s Course. Her company’s philanthropic work includes providing pro bono IT services for organisations that provide services for children and health consumers. She mentors and actively encourages others to serve. She has served on CEO, COO, director, sponsorship and award selection panels.

Her experience arises from private companies, not-for-profits, statutory bodies and advisory boards (listed below) - including the Pharmacy Board of Australia, Royal Australasian College of Physicians Consumer Advisory Group, ABC Advisory Council, My Health Record Operations Management Committee, Cadzow TECH Pty. Ltd. and the Women’s and Children’s Health Network Governing Council (which includes Women’s and Children’s Hospital). Plus working, review and reference groups.

Personal highlights include mentoring thirty years 3/4 students with their technology project which went onto win two state awards and a national innovation iAward over a two-year period; a year 5 student winning an innovation award and a year 7 student winning a national STEM prize.
